AKMA was proud to launch the IP 8001 Intellectual Property Management System Standard at the 2004 Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, held from September 1-5, 2004.
In addition to sharing a booth with the event organizer, the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association, Dr. Peter Liao's speech - "Management and Protection of Intellectual Property: The IP8001 Standard" - was well received at the fair conference on September 2. AKMA's launch of IP 8001 at this fair was a milestone in Knowledge Management - the first standard for Intellectual Property Management in the world.

Dr. Liao also delivered a dynamic presentation entitled "Knowledge Management: Beyond Quality Assurance in Educational Institutions" for the Association of the Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) conference held at Lingnan University from May 17-19, 2004. This conference, emphasizing regional cooperation in higher education, was attended by representatives from governments, universities and educational organizations in the region.
